Built by someone who does the work every day
Skom Enterprises is an operations company, not a marketing agency. The difference shows up in what we report and what we refuse to promise.
Kamran Tariq, Founder and lead operator
The founder
Kamran Tariq started on Upwork in 2021 with a $155 research contract and built from there: 100% Job Success, 4,900+ verified hours, 24 contracts and Top Rated Plus status, which Upwork gives to the top few percent of its freelancers. Since September 2022 he has run day-to-day e-commerce operations for a US skincare brand, starting with Amazon and Shopify, adding Walmart Marketplace, and launching its TikTok Shop in 2026.
Before e-commerce: lead generation and remote team supervision for a hospitality-technology company in Belgium, where he led a two-year data operation covering 70,000 property records, and enterprise vendor research for a Y Combinator SaaS company. Before any of it, six years managing a café in Oxford, which is where the habit of reading the margin, not the till, comes from.
The team
A distributed team of 14 runs execution remotely from Malaysia: advertising, catalog, content, creators, reporting. Every account is led personally by the founder, and nothing is subcontracted to people you have not met.
How we work
- Margin is the metric
- Every channel is reported as contribution margin per product. Revenue is an input, not a result.
- Corrections before growth bets
- Ad waste, fee leakage and listing decay are fixed first because they pay back in weeks. Growth programs start once the base is clean.
- Your accounts, your assets
- We work as authorised users inside your accounts. Nothing is held, hosted or owned on your behalf.
- Honest hours, honest numbers
- The Upwork review that gets quoted most is about honesty on billed hours. The case study on this site says what we did not do as clearly as what we did. That is on purpose.
Where we are
